Sold - Commission
This was a commission from my collectors husband as a surprise
anniversary gift. My collector is Marilyn crazy and has a great collection
of works of Marilyn including many of my prints. Hubby thought it would be
great for her to have two original Marilyn Monroe paintings so he ordered two
and gave her one for Mothers Day which was my Warhol’s Marilyn’s Exhibit that
I posted the other day and this one for their anniversary. She was so surprised!

Famous for playing dumb blonde characters, she became one of the most popular sex symbols of the 1950s, emblematic of the era's attitudes towards sexuality. Although she was a top-billed actress for only a decade, her films grossed $200 million by the time of her unexpected death in 1962.She continues to be considered a major popular culture icon.
