Owls Painting, Whooo's in The Attic by k Madison Moore

Whooo's in The Attic?

Another Dream come true. I love it when I dream about art and then
execute it as a painting and it works! Sometimes I wish my brain would just stop
working so I could sleep sounder but most times this does not happen with an insomniac.
It is like your asleep but you think your awake so at least something good comes out of it.

Owls are my favorite birds. I wish I could have a few but it is totally illegal to own
them so I just have to enjoy what I have in my trees on my property. I love to hear all
the who's!

Imagine having a bunch of them and hanging out with them in a big attic under
the moonlit starry sky. Here Mr Owl decided that he would be the artist and paint
portraits of his friends.

My last owls painting was so popular that I am still selling prints
of it I am hoping for the same with this one.

Thinking Pablo - Dora Marr Oil Painting by k Madison Moore Fine Artist

Thinking Pablo - Dora Marr
Picasso Inspired

Take a Seat Series

Fanciful and amusing oil paintings
of Miniature Paintings and Chairs with a
sense of humor

Dora Marr, the photographer and painter who was Picasso’s lover and the principal model for many of his weeping woman portraits in the late 1930’s and 40’s. After their relationship ended she suffered from depression and opted to live in reclusion, living in the shadow of the image that Picasso created for her. Picasso said, I could never see her, never imagine her, except for crying. Is Dora thinking about Picasso here?

Pink Nude Oil Paintings, Modesty I and II by k Madison Moore

Modesty I and II

Emotions in Color Series

2 - 12 x 16 Pink Nude Oil Paintings on Canvas

These were fun to paint but you would think they would be easy
and they were not. Trying to blend colors in such a narrow space was
a challenge but I love the way they turned out.

I think they look great together but may be purchased separately
as well. They are very "Modest" and contemporary so they would
be nice in a living room, bedroom or anywhere.

Frames are for display only so you can see how they look framed.
The sides are painted so you really do not need frames. Either way looks great!

Engaged, Pop Art Chair Painting Inspired by Roy LIchtenstein by k Madison Moore

Inspired by Roy Lichtenstein

8 x 8 Lichtenstein Oil Painting on Canvas

Take a Seat Series
Fanciful and amusing oil paintings of
Chairs and Miniature Paintings
with a sense of humor.

Another fun, colorful small painting or my new series.
Always love painting with primary colors and Pop Art is
so fun and brings back my comic book days.

Roy Fox Lichtenstein was an American Pop Artist during the 1960's along with Andy Warhol and Jasper Johns. He became a leading figure in the new art movement. His work  defined the premise of Pop Art through parody.

Roy Lichtenstein was one of the most influential and innovative artists of the second half of the twentieth century. He identified with Pop Art, a movement he helped originate. His fully achieved paintings were based on imagery from comic strips and advertisements and rendered in a style mimicking the crude printing process of newspaper reproduction.

Welcome to My Dream, Rousseau Inspired Oil Painting by k Madison Moore

Welcome to My Dream
Inspired by Henri Rousseau

Painting with The Masters
Art within Art Series

14 x 14 x 2 Jungle Oil painting on Canvas

I love doing jungle paintings inspired by Henri Rousseau.
He had such a fun imagination. I was thinking about about working
with him again on another jungle piece before I went to sleep one night
so I had a dream about the composition and this is my dream. How cool is that!
…and yes, I do dream in color. I have been asked that many times because I do paint
a lot from my dreams. My brain never stops.

If I didn’t dream this I probably would have never thought to use the pinks
in a jungle painting but I do love the way it worked out with my take on Henri’s
wild jungle flowers. Just love Mr Tiger laying there chilling! Maybe he just woke up
from a dream too!

Henri Julien Felix Rousseau  ( French) May 21, 8144 - September 2, 1910 was a French post impressionist painter in the Naive or Primitive manner.   He was also known as Le Douanier ( the customs officer)  a humorous description of his occupation as a toll and tax collector. He started painting seriously in his early forties: by age 49, he retired his job to work full time on his art.

Ridiculed during his lifetime by critics, he came to be recognized as a self taught genius whose works are of high artistic quality. Rousseau’s work exerted and extensive influence on several generations of avant-garde artists. He was well known for his jungle and animal paintings. His works are worth millions today.

Irises for van Gogh Chair Painting by k Madison Moore

Irises for van Gogh
Inspired by Vincent van Gogh

8 x 8 van Gogh Oil Painting on Canvas

The a Seat Series

Fanciful and amusing oil paintings of
Chairs and Miniature Paintings
with a sense of humor.

In May 1889, after episodes of self-mutilation and hospitalization,
Vincent van Gogh chose to enter an asylum in Saint-Rémy, France.
There, in the last year before his death, he created almost 130 paintings.
Within the first week, he began Irises, working from nature in the asylum's garden.

Each one of Van Gogh's irises is unique. He carefully studied their
movements and shapes to create a variety of curved silhouettes bounded by
wavy, twisting, and curling lines.

"How well he has understood the exquisite nature of flowers!”

Salvador Dalí was a skilled  draftsman, best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work. Dalí's expansive artistic repertoire included film, sculpture ,and photography, in collaboration with a range of artists in  a variety of media.
His eccentric manner and attention-grabbing public actions sometimes drew more attention than his artwork, to the dismay of those who held his work in high esteem, and to the irritation of his critics.

My Meta Art

Meta is when I refer to The Master’s creative work.
In this work is the inspiration. It's art about their art!
It’s Art within Art. It's less about using their style
and more about expressing my passion for and
interpretation of what their body of work represents.

Walter Crane (15 August 1845 – 14 March 1915) was an English artist and book illustrator. He is considered to be the most i
Influential, and among the most prolific, children’s book creator of his generation andone of the strongest contributors to the child's nursery
motif that the genre of English children's illustrated literature would exhibit in its developmental stages in the latter 19th century.
Crane's work featured some of the more colourful and detailed beginnings of the child-in-the-garden
motifs that would characterize many nursery rhymes and children's stories for decades to come. He was part of
the Arts and Crafts movement  and produced an array of paintings, illustrations, children's books, ceramic
tiles and other decorative arts. Crane is also remembered for his creation of a number of iconic
images associated with the International Socialist movement.

Frida Kahlo's 2017 Birthday Painting by k Madison Moore

Frida’s Garden
2017 Frida Kahlo Birthday Painting

July 6, 1907 - July 13, 1954
Born Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderon

Forever Frida Series

Prints Available Here

18 x 18 x 2 Frida Kahlo Painting on Canvas
This is a beautiful size with the sides painted to match the painting.

In this composition I have surrounded Frida with beautiful flowers and colors.
Of course I included one of her and Diego’s favorites, Calla Lilies.

When Frida came home from her last visit to the hospital, still very ill,
her last request was that she be moved to a room with a better view of her
garden. She wanted to be able to see her garden while she laid in bed.
Shortly after she passed away.
She loved her garden and spent a lot of time there and many times would
paint in her garden when she felt up to it.
I think it makes a great birthday painting for her this year.

Happy Birthday Frida Kahlo
