American artist Georgia O’Keeffe (1887–1986) is known for her paintings
of flowers, bones, shells, stones, leaves, trees, mountains, and other natural forms.In 1924, O’Keeffe began to make paintings in various sizes, all of which focused on the centers of flowers, and she continued making them for decades.
Beginning in 1929, when she began working part of the year in Northern  New Mexico which she made her permanent home in 1949—O’Keeffe depicted subjects specific to that area. O'Keeffe has been recognized as the Mother of American of Modernism.
