11 x 14 Interior Oil Painting on Canvas

SOLD

I haven't painted with Georgia for quite
awhile so decided to do another. I am especially
happy with the floral carpet after one of her beautiful
flower paintings. The chandelier looks great reflecting
in the mirror, but my favorite is the gentlemen peaking
around the door watching her play....humm...
wonder who he is?

Enjoy
Love Songs for Georgia

Artist and painter Georgia O'Keeffe was born on November 15, 1887, in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. Known for her striking flower paintings and other captivating works, O'Keeffe was one of the greatest American artists of the twentieth century. She took to making art at a young age and went to study at the Art Institute of Chicago in the early 1900s. Later, while living in New York, she studied with such artists as William Merritt Chase as a member of the Art Students League.
Following O' Keeffe's death, her family contested her will because  codicils made to it in the 1980s had left all of her estate to Hamilton. The case was ultimately settled out of court in July 1987.] The case became famous as case law in estate planning. A substantial part of her estate's assets were transferred to the Georgia O' Keeffe Foundation, which dissolved in 2006, leaving these assets to the Georgia O' Keefe Museum, established in Santa Fe in 1997 to perpetuate O' Keeffe's artistic legacy. These assets included a large body of her work, photographs, archival materials, and her Abiquiu house, library, and property.
